Hey y’all, and welcome again to my little corner of the road.
If you’ve read my first post, you already know I’m not your typical travel blogger—and I don’t pretend to be.
I’m Jennifer—a graphic designer, wildlife photographer, single mom, brain cancer warrior, and now, remote work road traveler. I’m someone who’s spent a lifetime showing up for others… and now I’m learning how to show up for myself, too
Who I Am
-
Profession: I work remotely in graphic design for a nonprofit. I’ve worked from my kitchen, my bedroom, hotel rooms, and (hopefully soon) mountain cabins and beachside porches.
-
Passions: Design, photography (especially wildlife), memory keeping, and finding beauty in simplicity.
-
Mission: To help fellow remote workers—especially women and single parents—discover real places they can stay, work, and breathe easy.
This blog isn’t about luxury—it’s about livability.
It’s not about clout—it’s about connection.
What You Can Expect Here
Every post is written from the heart and focused on:
-
Real Reviews – I evaluate each stay for comfort, privacy, Wi-Fi reliability, desk/workspace functionality, noise levels, and the little touches that make a space remote-friendly.
-
Local Highlights – I explore local parks, restaurants, photo spots, and coffee shops—especially those that welcome folks working with laptops or cameras in tow.
-
Tips & Truths – I’ll share what worked, what didn’t, and what I wish I’d known before booking.
This isn’t just travel. It’s travel with a purpose. It’s working while wandering, resting while reviewing, and living while still earning.
Why I’m Doing This Now
Because I finally can.
Because remote work gave me a freedom I never thought I’d have.
Because my kids are in college, and it’s time for mom to rediscover life.
And truthfully?
Because after years of caregiving, surviving, and fighting—I need this healing journey just as much as I need a paycheck.
What I’ll Share (And What I Won’t)
You'll see:
-
Authentic reviews.
-
My photography.
-
Honest reflections.
You won’t see:
-
Exaggerated praise.
-
Sugarcoated experiences.
-
Anything posted without integrity. I talk with hosts before posting reviews because kindness still matters
So whether you're another remote worker looking for a change of scenery, a travel-loving single mom like me, or someone who just loves a good story—I’m glad you're here.
-
Let’s travel smart, live slow, and work from wherever our hearts feel most alive.
With warm roots and open roads,
Jennifer
